Q1:Can we see the Hot Tubs before we buy?

A1: Absolutely. We have a dedicated showroom in Paphos (visit our contact page for more information), where all of our Hot Tubs are on display and available for you to view. Please feel free to call us and make an appointment or pop by at any time for a coffee and a chat. Our friendly team will be more than happy to discuss your requirements and demonstrate any product for you, ensuring that you make the right choices.

Q2: What should we think about before buying?

A2: You need to know where you are going to put your Hot Tub and have an idea on how much you want to spend. Our friendly team will walk you through the experience checking your specific needs and finding the model that’s perfect for you, whether it is for social pleasure, therapeutic needs or a mixture of both that you are looking for. You may also want to consider “wet testing” a Spa before purchasing which means actually getting into it whilst it is filled with water. Here at Crystec Spas we maintain safe and ready to go display models just for this purpose so that you can get a real feel for the benefits and pleasures.

Q3: What will it cost?

A3: Our Hot Tubs are available in a wide range of prices. Just like cars, Hot Tub prices reflect features, materials and finishing. No matter what model you choose you can be assured that they have all been subjected to the same level of quality and workmanship, using components that are selected from suppliers that meet our strict quality requirements.

Q4: How big should I go?

A4: Our Hot tubs vary in size but our most popular products come in 2m x 2m. The larger the Hot Tub, the more people it will generally accommodate. You should start by measuring the space where you intend to install your Spa, leaving around 0.5-1m of space around the sides to allow for access, steps and accessories such as cover lifters.

Crystec Spas come in sizes that can accommodate between 2 to 7 people. Our most common sizes are those with 5-6 seats and you should think about the type of use you will be getting out of the Hot tub; is it primarily for you to use as a household or do you intend to do a lot of entertaining with friends and family.

Q5: What else should I buy with my Hot Tub?

A5: All of our Hot tubs come complete with a thermal cover, steps and a chemical starter pack so that you have everything you need to start enjoying your experience.  The majority of our customers elect to purchase a cover lifter to protect the thermal cover from damage which in turn maintains its ability to retain the heat inside the spa.  A hot tub cover lifter also helps anyone on their own to remove and replace the cover quickly, easily and efficiently.

We have an exciting range of additional accessories that are all specially designed to make your overall Spa experience safe and enjoyable.  These can be purchased on the day or purchased and fitted by our experienced team on the day of delivery.
Now that you have the Hot Tub its no different to a car and equally important that you look after it.  We have designed a range of monthly care packages to help you maintain and service your Spa while offering some great savings, upgrades and part exchange opportunities.  These are priced annually for even more savings or convenient monthly payments to help you spread the cost.  Our servicing options support your warranty and provide you with complete piece of mind for up to 10 years.

Q6: What are the benefits of having a Hot Tub?

A6: Hot water in general helps relax your body. This can also alleviate aches and pains associated with athletic injuries like muscle pulls or even arthritis. Hydrotherapy involves the use of water for soothing pains and treating diseases. Hydrotherapy is used to treat musculoskeletal disorders such as arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, or spinal cord injuries and in patients suffering burns, spasticity, stroke or paralysis.  If you’re in pain and it’s not a broken bone, a good soak will probably help you feel better.
Escape: All this relaxing and warmth isn’t just good for you literally, but also good for you figuratively. Sitting in warm water and feeling the benefits can greatly reduce your stress. There are numerous benefits to be had from reducing and managing stress, beginning with an increase in concentration, a decrease in anxiety, and a reduction in pain. Effectively managing stress often leads to improved health.
Family Time: A Hot Tub at home can help to find an excuse to take a break from the every day chaos going on in your daily routine and help you to make time to create a space for the whole family to reconnect.  When was the last time you talked properly with your partner or gave up your time for your kids who are quickly turning into young adults?
There are many other benefits linked to owning and using a Hot tub including cardiovascular health, sleep, blood pressure, diabetes, weight loss and anxiety to name but a few.

Q7: What are the running costs?

A7: Crystec Spas are manufactured to maximise efficiency wherever possible and include full cabinet insulation and Nordic lids as standard which ensures minimum energy loss. At Crystec Spas we are always creating new and innovate ideas to help reduce cost and maximise efficiency for our customers.  Check out our Technologies section for a few of the ways in which we aim to make things cheaper for you.

Q8: What plumbing do I need?

A8: Hot Tubs don’t need a permanent water supply. They’re filled and drained using a hose pipe so you won’t need to install any additional plumbing at your home.

Q8: What Electrics do I need?

Specification:
All installations should only be completed by a fully qualified electrician and should have an international protection rating or

IP66 (Protected from high pressure water jets from any direction, limited ingress protection).
External 3 PIN 13amp waterproof socket positioned two meters away from the Hot Tub. The maximum distance from your Hot Tub control box and the Socket must not exceed 5 meters of cable. This is the safe distance of cable that your Hot Tub will be supplied with.
Sockets should be hard wired into an internal circuit and extension leads should not be used.
20amp RCD breaker fitted into an RCD protected fuse board with up to 20 meters of 3-core 4ml armoured cable from the fuse board to an isolator switch positioned two meters away from the Hot Tub.
Leave 5m of 3-core 4ml SY silver cable which should be connected into the isolator with the Hot Tub end locked off ready for the installation team to connect.
32amp RCD breaker fitted into an RCD protected fuse board with up to 20 meters of 3-core 6ml armoured cable from the fuse board to an isolator switch positioned two meters away from the Hot Tub.
Leave 5m of 3-core 6ml SY silver cable which should be connected into the isolator with the Hot Tub end locked off ready for the installation team to connect.

Q9: What access do you need to fit my tub?

A9: A hot tub is usually delivered on its side on a special slider which can be steered at both ends. As it is on its side on the slider, the hot tub’s height then becomes its width, and its width (or length) then becomes its height. You must also consider the thickness of the hot tub’s packaging.  We insist on a minimum extra height and width of 0.3m to safely complete the installation.
You need to plan the hot tub’s journey from the street through to the rear of the property to its location, so you therefore need to consider the following: Are there any overhanging eaves, flues or branches that would interfere with the hot tub’s height on the slider? Is the access wide enough throughout the route? If not, can any fence sections or gate posts be removed? Is the ground solid all the way, or are there areas of cultivated soil, delicate lawn or gravel which need protecting? Are you on good terms with your neighbours and, if so, might an easier route be to come via a neighbour’s property and remove a fence panel?
Pay attention to very restricted and tight alleys, and sharp corners, as you will not be able to bend the hot tub to get around them!  Turning angles should allow for the full length of the Hot Tub.  Steps can be negotiated, and we generally operate safely to a restricted assent of 0.5m and descent of 1.0m providing there is enough distance available for ramps to be placed.

Q10: Do I need any particular surface for my Hot Tub?

A10: All hot tubs require a firm, level base which is capable of supporting the weight of the hot tub, the water and the bathers without any movement at all. Hot tubs are very heavy pieces of equipment – typical floor loadings of a hot tub full of water and bathers are in excess of 2.5 tonnes.
The most common form of foundation is a 4” (100mm) deep reinforced concrete pad, which is formed using timber shuttering and levelled off smooth and level, so that the hot tub cannot rock on any high or low points and built to an area at least the size of the hot tub’s published footprint.  It is also possible to install on an existing patio, as long the patio’s foundations are strong enough to take the weight, and the slabs on top are smooth and level. Also, bear in mind that the surface needs to be level.
A hot tub can also be installed on decking, as long as the sub-structure is strong enough to take the weight. The other thing to bear in mind when considering putting a hot tub on decking is that timber is naturally resonant and can transmit and amplify any vibration from the hot tub during its operation and filtering modes. Many hot tub owners opt for the concrete pad solution, then simply deck up to the edges or around it but consider access if you ever need an engineer.
If you are considering installing a hot tub in any kind of raised position, i.e. a balcony, roof, or terrace, it is vital to call upon the services of a qualified structural engineer or architect who can provide calculations to ensure that the hot tub has the minimum level of structural support underneath it. Under no circumstances go ahead and install a hot tub in such a position without doing this first.
Style Spas will not be held liable for an installation on a surface that is not structurally sound, and it remains the responsibility of the customers to ensure adequate health and safety assessments have been completed by qualified professionals when installing on raised structures.  Your warranty will be void.

Q11: How long will my delivery take?

A11: For in stock Hot Tubs we shall endeavour to deliver within 2 weeks of payment. In many instances installations can be undertaken within 48 hours although during busy periods a longer wait time may be applicable. You will be provided a provisional booking date following your order and we will work with you to find a suitable day and time to fit around your day to day activities.

Q12: Can I customise my Hot Tub?

A12: At Crystec Spas, we pride ourselves on offering many additional features on our Hot Tubs as standard however, if you have specific requirements that are not already included on your Tub of choice, please speak to one our friendly staff who will be able to discuss your requirements with you.  We also have a huge range of customised upgrades which can be chosen when you place your order.  For further details please check out our factory fitted extras.
Please be advised that customised Hot Tubs may incur a slightly longer wait for delivery however we assure you that this will be worthwhile in ensuring that you have your dream spa just the way you want it.

Q13: Is it difficult to maintain a clean Hot Tub?

A13: Crystec Spa Hot Tubs are complimented with a state-of-the-art filtration system that makes keeping crystal clear water easy. Follow the simple maintenance steps included in your owner’s manual and check out our chemical guidance download to properly test the chemical levels in your Hot Tub and understand your daily, weekly and monthly best practice.
We highly recommend you allow our professional team to do the hard work by subscribing to one of our excellent value care packages.  These are reasonably priced to ensure you get some great discounts for the chemicals you need and professional servicing by our highly trained staff to ensure continued enjoyment for many years to come.

Q14: Does a hot tub need to be drained and refilled before each use?

A14: No. Drainage and refilling are typically done every three to four months depending on the number of soakers, frequency of use and proper water treatment.  Ensuring that you are following our advice before entering the pool and regularly cleaning your filters will reduce the period of time in which your water requires changing.
If foam is appearing on the top of your Hot Tubs water is usually caused by remnants of detergents left in bathing costumes after they have been washed. If possible, it is always a good idea to encourage hot tub bathers to shower with their costumes on before using the hot tub. This will not only help to remove detergents but will also remove cosmetics and lotions from the body.
You can read more about how to stop foam and the products that we have available if you are suffering from foam related issues in our maintenance section.
